Copal resin comes from the hardened sap of a tree (Protium copal/Burseraceae), and the pitch pine tree (Pinus pseudostrobus). Copal is native to Mexico and Central American, and is considered a sacred resin or ‘blood of the trees. Used for Purification, Meditation, Enhancing Spiritual Connection.
Resin comes from the hardened sap of trees, and is released by the tree after injury to help heal, repair, and to help fight against infection. These resins are ethically sourced, and harvested by knowledgeable artisans who understand the cutting of the tree bark in a manner to preserve without harm. How to use:
Using a firesafe container such as an Abalone Shell, Cauldron or Brass Burner, put sand in the bottom to help absorb heat. Place on a heat resistant surface.
Place a piece of charcoal in the fire proof holder, and ignite the charcoal. Place the resin on top of the charcoal using tongs (for safety).
Start with a prayer honoring this as a special, sacred ceremony. Ground your energy, then ask for guidance and blessings from Mother Earth and Source Energy (or other special Spirits).
Based on your intention, respectfully light your incense for your ceremony with prayers.
You can use a Turkey feather to gently move the smoke energy.
Once completed, close out your ceremony with gratitude and prayers.
